Domaine Muré / March to December 2015
Muré Riesling Côte de Rouffach 2011 Alsace - SRP $40.
"Dry and tangy, with snappy flavors of melon rind, crunchy white peach, kumquat and sea salt underscored by petrol-tinged minerality. Well-cut and expressive. 500 cases made". (Wine spectator = 90 points)
"This ripe Riesling has a wonderful aromatic character as well a s ripe fruits. While it does offer weight and full apple and citrus flavors, it also has a clear, dancing character that brings lightness to the minerality ans intensity. It is still young ans needs time to mature". (Wine Enthusiast = 94 points)
Muré Riasling Clos St. Landelin 2012 Alsace Grand Cru - SRP $60.
"Beautiful integrated, with bone-dry, chinalike acidity, this is finely knit, with an expressive flavor range, showing a prenounced vein of minerality and more subtle notes of crunchy white peach, McIntosh apple, lemon preserves, ground ginger and anise. Very elegant. Drink now through 2029. 600 Cases made". (Wine Spectator = 93 points)
"Still young and chock full of acidity, it has considerable potential. It's a tight, bright wine, the lemon zest acidity still dominant. It's going to be a major wine as it ages, keeping bone dry while developing its aromatic, beautiful fragrant side". (Wine Enthusiast = 94 points)
"Quince and yellow apple aromas. Dry, clean palate with pure, complex acidity and a long finish. A full-flavored wine that's a bit austere and needs a few years in the cellar". (Decanter = 17,25 points & Highly Recommended)
